One of the “hot” debates in education today is the use of technology in the classroom. When is it appropriate to use it and when is it not? And more importantly, at what point does technology become a distraction rather than an aid to our student’s learning?

According to Allen Kay, “technology is anything invented after you were born.” When looking at the issue of technology in education, I think that this statement rings very true. Technology has had and, is still having, a huge impact on the generation of students that we are going to be teaching. These students have 24/7 access to the world at their finger tips. No matter where they are, they have access to a constant stream of information.
